Description
To ensure your tank is a healthy environment for your fish, you must make sure that the pH levels are at the appropriate target.
The Australian Pet Supplies – Junior pH Test Kit allows you to accurately test your tanks pH levels and correct it if needed!
Test Kit Instructions:
1. Thoroughly rinse testing vial in aquarium water to be tested. Fill vial with aquarium water to the line marked on the vial.
2. Add 5 drops of Bromothymol Blue to test water.
3. Re-cap vial and shake. DO NOT place finger over vial opening and shake as this may give an incorrect reading.
4. Match the colour of the water in the vial against the colours on the chart at the bottom of the junior test kit packaging.
The desired pH reading is neutral – aproximately 6.8 – 7.2.
For healthy fish, change aquarium water regular and maintain water temperature of 22C-27C with a pH level of 6.8-7.2
To reduce acidity (If test results show acidity): Lightly cover bottom of cap of testing vial with Sodium bi-carbonate (pH Up). Dissolve into water and slowly add to aquarium.
To reduce Alkalinity (If test results show alkalinity): Lightly cover bottom of cap of testing vial with Sodium bi-phosphate – pH down. Dissolve in water and slowly add to aquarium.
IMPORTANT: Allow aquarium water 24 hours to adjust to any changes before retesting. Small changes over a week are better than large changes over a few days.
