Description
Origin: Found in estuaries and freshwater rivers across Africa and Asia, the Mono Angelfish thrives in environments with a mix of salt and freshwater.
Feeding: These omnivores enjoy a varied diet consisting of live or frozen foods like bloodworms, brine shrimp, and high-quality flake or pellet foods. They also appreciate occasional plant matter for a well-rounded diet.
Tank Mates: Ideally suited for peaceful community tanks, Monos get along well with other non-aggressive brackish species like scats, gobies, and peaceful brackish cichlids. However, avoid housing them with fin-nipping or aggressive tank mates.
Aggression: Generally peaceful, Monos prefer calm environments and can become stressed in overly aggressive or crowded setups. They may display territorial behavior during breeding but are otherwise mild-mannered.
Experience Level: Suitable for aquarists of various experience levels, although beginners may benefit from prior experience with maintaining water quality and managing a semi-aggressive tank community.
Water Parameters: Monos thrive in water temperatures between 72-82°F (22-28°C) and a pH range of 7.0-8.5. They prefer moderately hard water in Brackish conditions with adequate filtration and regular water changes to maintain pristine conditions.
