Silvertip tetras are named for the brilliant silvery-white tips on their fins, which stand out beautifully against their orange body.
Silvertip Tetras are active, social fish that thrive in groups. They are peaceful but can display minor territorial behaviours during feeding times. A school of 6-10 Silvertips will create a harmonious environment. House with similarly sized, peaceful species, like neon tetras or corydoras catfish.
While Silvertip Tetras can adapt to smaller tanks, a 60-litre aquarium or larger is recommended. This gives them enough space to form a comfortable group and move around freely.
Water Parameters 24-28°C, pH: 6.0-7.5 in soft to moderately hard water. These fish are sensitive to water quality. Regular water changes (25% weekly) are essential. along with a good filtration system to maintain stable water quality without causing too much current is ideal.
Resemble their natural habitats with a sandy or fine gravel substrate with a variety of plants, rocks, and driftwood to provide hiding spots.
A stable diet of high-quality flakes or pellets, brine shrimp, daphnia, or bloodworms occasionally brings out their colours and stimulates natural hunting behaviour. Feed them twice daily, providing only what they can consume in two to three minutes.
