Description

The 733 series is a suburban AC train that appeared in 2012, and is based on the 731 series that appeared earlier, with new technology and barrier-free specifications. The 733-3000 series was introduced in 2014 with the aim of easing congestion during commuting hours and improving the comfort of rapid “airport” trains. The rapid service “Airport” using the same series began operating in July 2014, mainly between New Chitose Airport and Sapporo/Otaru. One of the intermediate cars, Saha 733 type, has a reserved seat “U seat”, and the exterior has different colored bands.
