Description
Very popular for stocking in dams and aquaponics. Also an easily kept fish in unheated tanks or large garden ponds. Silver Perch tolerate wide water parameters and are a hardy native Australian species. They are adaptable to cold and tropical water climates.

Tank Mate Compatibility:
Silver Perch are a relatively peaceful fish although they must be kept with other active species that cannot fit in their mouth and will not be scared by their activity. Silver Perch can be kept as a single species, or with other larger species.

Temperature: Optimal growth occurs between 20°C to 30°C, with a tolerance range of 20°C to 35°C.

pH Level: The preferred pH range is between 6.5 and 9, with a target of 6.8-7.8.
Water Hardness: A stable water hardness of 10-20 dGH is suitable for silver perch.
Diet:
Silver Perch are omnivores and are easy to feed. They readily accept pellets as the primary diet.
Naturally they have a high protein diet eating insect larvae, crustaceans and plant matter.
For healthy Silver Perch, ensure to feed a varied diet that includes live, frozen and freeze dried blackworms, bloodworms, brine shrimp and daphnia.
