Description

The robust yet lightweight Petwalk Folding Ramp is the ideal solution for any situations where a dog needs to walk between two levels. Whilst this would usually be when entering or leaving a vehicle it can also be used when, for example, an arthritic dog would otherwise be required to climb steps.

The overwhelming majority of dog ramps are manufactured from aluminium and as a result have an ‘industrial’ appearance. The Petwalk Folding Ramp is moulded in two sections from extruded plastic, the substantial moulded integral reinforced structure enables the ramp to support weights of up to 90kgs (which is around the weight of a large Newfoundland).

When opened out, the 40cm wide ramp is 1.56m long. This substantial length – which compares extremely favourably with the longest of the aluminium ramps – has the obvious benefit of requiring the dog to navigate a comparatively shallow incline.

The fully-folded Petwalk ramp

The fully-folded Petwalk ramp

For storage the ramp easily folds in half to a very convenient 78cm length. With a weight of only 4.5kgs, the ramp can be easily placed in even the most inconvenient storage spaces.

The wipe-clean nature of the material means that it can be easily and readily maintained in tip-top condition. Just use a damp cloth to wipe away the muddy paw prints!

The surface of the ramp is coated with an anti-slip surface, a texture perhaps most obviously compared with a course sand paper.

The sides of the ramp are raised, which assist dogs with stability issues to safely use the ramp.

The partially-folded ramp

The partially-folded ramp with reinforcing structure and rubbers stoppers visible

To avoid the possibility of the ramp marking the surface on which it’s resting (typically the bumper on a hatchback or estate car) the relevant points on the rear of the ramp are fitted with rubber resting stoppers, visible on the right-hand side of the photo alongside.

You’ll see that the main product photo shows a Labrador with the Petwalk Folding Ramp. A lab weighs around 30kgs; without a ramp lifting even a 30kg dog into a vehicle will surely invite some claw scratches on that lovely paintwork…
